Many believe the man of sin is the Catholic church/Pope based on the apostasy of that organization and how many it has led astray (there are 18 million Catholics in the world). In 2nd Thess 2 v7 Paul states "For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work". Hence, as someone has said, the Man of Lawlessness was a Child in Paul's time - however it was at work in his time. The Catholic church claims existence since Peter and claims each papal succession since Peter. Further JW was only formed in 1,870AD. How do you account for that? 2nd part of v7 - "he who restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way". Who, in your assessment, is/was that and when exactly were they taken out of the way?

B.e.l.i.e.v.e, The man of sin has access to the temple of The God. Considering the inquisition I would find it hard to believe the Catholics could enter the temple. The thing acting as a restraint is the church which Satan has undermined. They get taken out of the way when they exit and go into the wilderness. See Revelation 12:13-14
